Practice Checklist & Info

  • Arrive on time.

  • Do not arrive hungry or dehydrated.

  • Be ready with all the necessary gear on before the start of practice.

REQUIRED PRACTICE GEAR: water, helmet (with Guardian Cap attached with mouth guard attached to face mask), cleats (rubber molded - no metal spiked cleats are allowed), practice jersey, practice pants, and shoulder pads. Gloves, hand warmers, padded under shirts etc. are all optional. Cell phones and personal items must be stored/set aside in a safe place. Have fun, be focused, be disciplined, and work hard. Always be encouraging and respectful to your fellow teammates and coaches. Leave with what you came with. Pick up and take all personal items, gear, trash, etc. with you.

TRAINING CAMP: Begins mid August 2024 and will run Monday-Friday. This is to get players acclimated to wearing their gear, fundamental instruction, various drills, conditioning, player skill assessments, and team bonding at every grade level. Contact is introduced at a gradual pace. As training camp progresses, coaches will begin to instruct and install plays, teach positional responsibilities and loosely assign player positions based on a number of assessment factors, while keeping player safety as the #1 factor. Coaches may schedule a pre-season scrimmage.

REGULAR SEASON PRACTICES: Once school starts, full equipment practices will go to 3 days each week, generally Wednesday-Friday, and typically run 1.5 -2 hours (W/Th) and 1 hour on Friday. Wednesday and Thursday will consist of warm-ups, drills, running plays, teaching and installing new plays, foundation reinforcement, and conditioning. Fridays are no-contact/helmet-only practices and consist of warm-ups, special teams' run-throughs, position responsibility review, game plan review for the opponent ahead that weekend, running plays against air (no contact) and conditioning.

Practice times and locations will be communicated by your head coach.

Game Checklist & Info

REQUIRED GAME GEAR: water, helmet (Guardian Cap removed with mouth guard attached to face mask), shoulder pads, game pants, game jersey, cleats (rubber molded - no metal spiked cleats are allowed). Gloves, hand warmers, padded under shirts etc. are all optional. Have fun, be focused, be disciplined, and work hard. Every player matters. Every play matters. Give it your best on every down until the whistle blows. Every Sharks touchdown belongs to every player on your team. It takes a complete team effort to be successful - 100% of the time. No matter what, we don’t give up. We play SciCoh football until the game is over. Win or lose, always be encouraging and respectful to your fellow teammates, and coaches, Leave with what you came with. Pick up and take all personal items, gear, trash, etc. with you.

REGULAR SEASON GAMES: Generally consists of 8 games for Blue (Varsity) and 7 games for White (Junior Varsity), and split between home and away games, for all grade levels. Blue games are typically played on Sundays (some Saturday Night Games may be scheduled) with White games on Saturday mornings. Blue teams that qualify in the standings will make it to one playoff game and teams that advance past the playoff game will compete in the Super Bowl Championship.

2024 season games start early September for Blue [Varsity] and for White [Junior Varsity]. Game schedules will be posted on scicohfootball.com and also communicated via email by the head coaches with additional details.

Sunday game times: Mite (grades 2,3,4) 10AM, Midget (grade 7,8) 11:30AM, PeeWees (grades 5,6) 1PM
